ACE stands for Adverse Childhood Experiences, a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Kaiser Permanente in San Diego. The long-term research found that “toxic stress” of childhood experiences of neglect, abuse and family dysfunction are major risk factors for leading causes of illness, death and a poor quality of life.

Orange Mound legal clinic gives seniors free access to services

Residents of Orange Mound received a legal lifeline Wednesday after lawyers provided free legal services to those in the area. Seniors at the Orange Mound Community Center were grateful to receive the services because sometimes having an attorney or legal representation is just as nice as having a family member on your side.
